Changelog: Homepage changes and Communities sneak preview
Learn about the latest changes to Unvale, including homepage changes and a new feed, while also getting a sneak preview at a giant new feature, Communities!
We’re bringing you a big change today–posts are back on the homepage… As well as QOTD, the welcome feed, and the brand new trending hashtags!
We’re doing this for a few reasons:
✨ Posts allow you to share your world, art, character, or any type of creation card with others. This provides an equal chance for all types of creatives to get discovered!
✨ We now have more posts than any other type of creation! When used best, they allow for context and collaboration across Unvale–things like collab worlds, events, and follower celebrations.
✨ We have a GIANT feature release coming that will make posts much more useful! Soon, you’ll be able to create your own community, where you can organize collab worlds, share specific creation types, fandom AUs, or just chat with friends. (SEE IMAGES BELOW)
Posts make this all possible!
Don’t worry. The explore feed remains untouched in all its creative glory, just one click away, located under “Explore” in the site or app’s navigation.
We’ve done a lot of work to address your complaints from the last time we put posts front-and-center.
✨ A lot of folks didn’t like seeing non-creative content on Unvale; with the new home feed, you will almost entirely see posts from folks you follow. No more SPAM!
✨ When we release Communities, you’ll be able to better keep up with what makes Unvale so great — the community activities. May the #copyrightwar continue!!!
✨ With Unvale's new block button, you can put distance between yourself and users you'd prefer not to interact with! We're committed to making sure folks feel safe on the platform.

There are so many different types of creatives on Unvale now, from collab world builders to contest enthusiasts to that one person who keeps turning everything into Sonic. This is a big step towards making Unvale work for everyone, allowing your incredible work to be discovered, and to make more Unvale collaborative magic happen every day.
Our goal is to make Unvale feel more expansive, more connected, and cozier. While these ideas seem at odds at first, we think its possible–and this is a big step in that direction.
We understand this is a big change! You may get fewer favorites on your characters right when you save them... But we encourage you to share them in a post and see what happens!
As always, we’re open to feedback, questions, or concerns about this change! Let me know your thoughts, and keep your eyes peeled for Communities in the coming weeks!
