Introducing the UnVale Accessibility Committee

Introducing the UnVale Accessibility Committee

Hello, everyone! In honor of Disability Pride Month, we wanted to kick off a project we’ve been thinking about for awhile. Read on for more information!

What is the UnVale Accessibility Committee (UAC)?

The UAC is a group of UnVale users that provide our team with feedback, concerns, and suggestions for how we can improve accessibility on the site. Making sure our site is functional for all types of creatives is incredibly important to our small team, and– though we have limited resources– we’d like to start finding ways to make the site more user-friendly!

What will the UAC actually do?

Being a part of the committee is entirely voluntary and would require no more than a couple hours of effort a month (if that)! Essentially, the UnVale team will occasionally reach out for feedback or ideas on how to improve accessibility, and you’d have a chance to share all of your thoughts directly with our team! You’ll also receive a direct line of communication to our team for expressing concerns or giving spur-of-the-moment feedback.

Who can apply for the UAC?

Given the nature of this committee, we will be prioritizing folks with disabilities who regularly seek out accessibility features on the web. If you have experience with accessibility tools of software, like screen readers, that’s a big plus! However, we are opening applications to everyone who thinks they may be a fit.

I’m interested! How can I apply?

Please check out the form here: APPLICATION FORM .
We will be closing the form on July 26th and will choose UAC participants shortly after. If you’ve been chosen, we will reach out to you via your preferred contact method.

We know we have many improvements to make when it comes to accessibility, so we’re really excited to work with our community to improve UnVale together.
